Linocut Textiles: Bandana Baddies
Join us for a fun and hands-on linocut workshop where you'll learn the art of carving and printing your own unique designs on bandanas! This beginner-friendly class will guide you through transferring your design onto linoleum blocks, carving them to create unique stamps, and using fabric-safe inks to bring your designs to life on cotton bandanas. No prior experience is necessary—just bring your creativity and enthusiasm!
What to Expect:
Participants will leave with a hand-carved stamp and a bandana to take home with your original design!
Participants will have the option to use pre-made stamps to create details border and create a stamp pattern within the border.
All materials will be included: one carving block, carving tools, fabric-safe inks, and one cotton bandanas (additional bandanas and carving blocks available for purchase).
Participants will be given a tray and protective sheet for students to transport their bandana(s) at the end of the class to continue drying at home.
Note:
Bandanas must dry overnight and be ironed (heat set) once dry in order for the ink to remain permanent. Students would ideally have access to an iron for best long-term results, though not necessary.
